We are looking forward to welcoming university legal practitioners from across the UK and Ireland to join us in York for the Annual Conference 2025. Our flagship annual event, the conference offers extensive CPD, networking & wellbeing opportunities for delegates, as well as talks and updates on the emerging trends and most pressing challenges within the higher education legal sector.
The Conference will open for early registration and networking on 25th June, with the full two-day programme of activities taking place on 26th and 27th June.

The Conference will also offer extensive networking opportunities for delegates, including an informal on-campus barbecue on the night before the first full day of Conference, meet-ups for our Special Interest Groups, and the formal Gala dinner in York city centre on the first night of the conference. The Gala dinner will also host the AULP Awards Ceremony, an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the talent and commitment of University legal teams.
Set among the University of York’s renowned green campus and York’s beautiful scenery, we are confident this year's conference will be an event to remember!

Tickets
Tickets are £100 plus VAT. Please note that ticket sales for this event will officially close on 31st May 2025, but may be closed earlier due to high demand.
A discount of 50% on the conference ticket price is available for our most junior members – by this we mean Trainee Solicitors, Solicitor Apprentices, Pupil Barristers, paralegals and those in equivalent, unqualified or relatively junior roles. You must ensure that you have approval from your Head of/Director of Legal before purchasing a discounted ticket.
AULP operates a discretionary hardship fund to support members (who are recent newcomers to the sector and in genuine financial difficulty) with the cost of the annual conference fee. For further information, please email info@aulp.ac.uk.
Accommodation
We have reserved a number rooms at discounted rates at York city centre hotels for your stay during the conference. Find out more on the Conference Accommodation page. Please note that only a limited number of rooms are reserved and these are available on first come first served basis.
Payment
Please note that our preferred method of payment is by card, due to the cost of processing invoices. Please pay by card rather than invoice if you can.
If you are unable to pay by credit card, please proceed with the booking and at the final stage of booking there will be an additional option to ‘pay by invoice’ as well as the option to proceed to payment online. Please then enter a purchase order number and your institutional address for the invoice. Purchase orders should be made out to 'Professional HE Services Limited.' Our accounts team will be notified of your invoice request and will supply you with an invoice to pay. If you do not provide an official PO number we will not be able to process and confirm your booking. All invoices must be paid in full before you can attend the event.
