A key objective for AULP is to help our members develop their knowledge and skills to excel in their roles and to take the next steps in their careers. AULP believes that learning and development should be at the heart of a high-performing legal services team.

If you’re interested in joining our mentoring scheme, please visit the Professional Development page.

Regional Sessions

During the year we facilitate a number of regionally focused sessions for our members, in partnership with legal service providers from the private sector. These sessions seek to tackle a small number of tricky issues colleagues are tackling.

Members from any region are welcome at these sessions.

AULP Cuppa

We regularly host virtual coffee events, to give our members the opportunity to network and share issues with peers for discussion. These are informal opportunities to chat with other AULP members and hear some of the latest news from the sector.

Strategic expansion to India: A new chapter for UK higher education

28/04/2026

AULP is pleased to share details of an upcoming event being held by CMS, in collaboration with CMS IndusLaw, examining the new opportunities now available to UK universities in India. Following recent regulatory changes, foreign higher education institutions will be permitted to establish campuses in India for the first time. As interest grows across the sector, this session will outline the strategic, legal and operational considerations that universities should be aware of when assessing potential expansion into the Indian market. Speakers will provide perspectives from both the UK and India, offering practical guidance, highlighting common risks, and exploring how institutions can prepare for this emerging opportunity.
